So, if you're gay...you die??

New York Times-Two arrests have been made this past week due to a hate crime that occurred on December 17,2008. Ecuadorian Jose Sucuzhanay a real estate broker and his brother were walking arm in arm at 3:15am in Brooklyn, to keep warm because of the cold weather. They were then attacked by Keith Phoenix, 28 and Hakim Scott 25, who began hitting them with a baseball bat and kicking them yelling anti-hispanic and anti-homosexual phrases. They hit Jose with a beer bottlein the back of his head, and hit his rib,shoulders and back repeatedly until he fell on the floor. His brother Pedro was also badly beaten but had made it, Jose died instanlty.

Scott was found at his home near Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, and Phenoix was believed to be picked up in Yonkers. Scott had made a full confession to the police, but only because he wanted to get it off his chest, however, the murder did not trouble him. Scott and Phenoix thought that the brothers were gay and therefore attacked them. It is believed that the attack was because of hispanic hate, homosexual hate, and immgrant hate, as well.

Jose Sucuzhanay came to the states for a better life. He became a waiter and had gotten his license to own his own buiseness, and was successful at it. He leaves behind two children who live back home in ecuador with their grandmother. It's sad how things like this have to happen, and especially over a mistake!!! I hope their family gets full justice!

Disapperance on Friday the 13th!!!

CNN-On Friday February 13, 2009 in Escondido California, Amber Leeanne DuBios disappeared on her way to school. She was holding a check that was for a down payment on a sheep that she wants to buy for her Future Farmers of America class. Apparently she didn't make it to school and hasn't been heard from since. Her mother Carrie McGoingle had stated that Amber wasn't like many other teens. She was a quiet girl that was always into her books and liked to spend time at home with her friends instead of just hanging out at the mall. She claims that Amber was not a member of Myspace or Facebook either and would never go anywhere without telling her mother nor father. She was very close to them and they knew Amber "very, very well".
The last time friends saw Amber was the Sunday before the incident, where she was walking with an unidentified person about half a mile from her home. No one knows the circumstances of the disappearance or the person she was with, however all of it together looks suspicious to the Esconidido community. Apparently, Ambers phone was on for only 20 seconds when they tried calling, and has been off ever since. There is a massive search going on right now, in which the FBI has involved themselves in, they are determined to get to the bottom of this and hope only for the best. For those who knew Amber, they say it is very unusual for her to just disappear or wander off with anyone. She isn't one to just go off with strangers, or not report to her family. Hailey Kosinski, a close friend of Amber, recalls Amber being very shy at first, but very outgoing when you get to know her, and as a person who always puts a smile on your face when you are feeling down. She is afraid to know what has happened to Amber and praise that she will return safely. The family is being very cooperative with authorities, but it has been over 8 days and no signs have turned up yet. As of now, there is no word of what's going on, but hopefully things will change and there will be a positive outcome. Lets keep our fingers crossed everyone!!

DID YOU KNOW??

In today's class, Dr. Daniels presented a video called "Did you know?" It was basically a statistical wrap up from the last 20 years or so. It was a "Youtube" presentation, all words and some visual graphics that dealt with the predictions of human life and knowledge within the next 30-40 years. Also the comparing the population of the United States with India and China....which completely blew me away, because America can at times have a "cocky" attitude. In otherwords thinking that we have the best technology and no one can stand next to us, however after seeing the numbers of HONOR students in India compared to the TOTAL amount of children in the U.S., made me see that America has to step their game up! I knew China was higher in technology and knowledge wise because our goods usually come from them, but India really surprised me. That is awesome, their knowledge is really advanced and it puts us at competition. There were also predictions of the human species and computers within the next couple of years, how a computer will have 2x the knowledge! THATS INSANE!!! The use of text messages and cell phones have doubled and will now continue to TRIPLE as the years come along. The link will be attached to this post and I suggest you to see it, if you haven't! You will see how advanced everything things are and how in depth technology and knowledge will become. I have no more words because it completely blew me away. All I can say is that...AMERICA BETTER GET READY!!!!

An 11-year old criminal....JEALOUSY KILLS

On Friday February 20, 2009, 11 year old Jordan Brown murdered his father's pregnant fiancee. Brown had a kiddie shotgun, and killed Kenzie Houk, while she slept on her bed, then hopped on the bus to school. He allegedly shot Houk in the back of the head apparently because of jealousy of the unborn baby.
"There was an issue with jealousy. He told my son stuff," said Houk's brother-in-law, Jason Kraner, 34, who described the boy as "rough." (New York Post). Brown had also mentioned that he did want to kill Kenzie. Her 4-year old daughter was eating breakfast and came upstairs to discover her dead mother an hour later. The little girl ran outside yelling that her "mommy" was dead, to three tree trimmers. The unborn infant had died several minutes after Houk ran out of oxygen. Brown was pulled out of class at 11 a.m. and questioned by state police. Brown had given a phony story sating that he saw a suspicious black truck on the property, which led to an hours long investigation. However, when the other Houk's daughter, 7 years old, was interviewed, she said she heard a "loud bang" and saw Brown with the shotgun that he and his father hunt with . It is believed that Brown was jealous over the daughters and the unborn child and probably felt "overpowered". He is being charged as an adult with two counts of homicide. Kenzie Houk loved Jordan Brown dearly, states the family. She never saw him as a rough boy and believed they all lived happy.
I'm glad this 11 year old is being charged as an adult. He knew what he was doing, it was already planned, therefore this can't be seen as an accident. However, since I don;t have children myself I can't say that this was bad parenting, because the situation is still unknown. -Post Wire Services

The Chmip attacks!!!

NBCConnecticut.com-This past week a woman was attacked by a chimpanzee in Stamford Connecticut! Apparently, Charla Nash (victim) went over to visit Travis the chimp and her longtime friend Sandra Herold (the owner), and when approaching Travis, he viciously attacked her. The public had spoken to the media, stating that the attack was quite difficult to understand, since Nash had always visited them and Travis did know her. So what could have possibly caused Travis' reaction? As of now there is no actual answer, but many probabilities. Travis had lime disease that he was being treated for, the medication is thought to have caused this reaction. However, many say the medication had nothing to do with it, it is highly speculated that it was the color of Nash's hair. It seems that Nash had a dark color the previous week, and when she came this time around to greet Travis, she had blond hair. Therefore Travis didn't recognize Nash, and ferociously attacked her. The desperate call to the police by Herold, led to the killing of the chimp; it was the only way to get him off of Nash. Doctors at Stamford Hospital say, that Nash is lucky to be alive, since the attack was BRUTAL to her face leaving her a bit disformed. Her hands and scalp had major injuries, and blood was everywhere which made it hard to see through. Nash and her family were taken by a private jet to Cleveland Clinic, to a medical team that specializes in facial surgeries and plastic surgery.
“It will be several days before we can determine the full extent of her injuries, therefore it will take some time before we can determine what will be the next steps in her care,” one of the doctor's said. Missing little girl....

CNN-A little girl from Florida is reported missing as of this past Tuesday. Haleigh Cummings, 5 years old, was not in her bed at 3 a.m. Ronald Cummings, father of Haleigh believes his child was abducted from their trailer home. The family lives in Putnam County, and on Monday evening Cummings has been at work and left his girlfriend Misty Croslin, 17, babysitting Haleigh and her 4 year old brother as well. Croslin states putting the kids to bed at 8p.m. and she went to bed at 10 p.m. For some reason she woke up at 3 a.m. and checked on the kids. That’s when she saw Haleigh missing and saw the back door of the trailer was open. Croslin made the immediate frantic phone call to the police saying that Haleigh is missing. The phone call was recorded as Croslin told the operator that the back door as being held by a brick. Cummings stated that he didn’t understand why the door was opened. The family doesn’t use the back door at all, also that “we have only used that door twice since we’ve been living here”.
As of now, everyone is a suspect; all friends and family are being investigated. Haleigh’s maternal grandmother had said that her daughter Crystal Sheffield, Haleigh’s mother and Cummings had a very rocky relationship and agreed to alternate every weekend. With tears in her eyes she pleaded in front of reporters that "I just want whoever's got her to bring her home,"…. "That's all I want, is my baby home." Ronald Cummings had pleaded the same as his voice broke with tears in his eyes. Croslin has been staying at home with her parents as she also takes care of her own child. Both Croslin and Cummings had agreed on taking a polygraph exam, and both passed. However questions are still unanswered and everything is still in the air. There is no solution near, and prayers are being silently shouted. Many fear the worst and hope the one responsible would come forth. Infant left alive to die!

Associated Press- Twenty year old Ciara Craig will be charged with first degree murder after dumping her own baby into a Louisiana river. Ciara had stated that she had a one night stand and had gotten pregnant from it. She claims she wasn't ready to have a baby, and had considered abortion but the pregnancy was too far along. She had hidden the pregnancy from her grandmother with whom she lived with, and had the baby at home as well.
As the law goes in Louisiana, any child murdered under the age of 12, will be prosecuted with first degree murder and can result in the death penalty. A witness claims that Craig had drove up to the river, walked out of the car with a black bag in her hand. She had placed the bag into the river and walked back slowly to the car and drove off into the night. The infants heart was supposedly still beating when Craig had thrown her into the river. Officers say Craig had so many other options to have considered and it kills that she ignored all of them. Results to this case are still being investigated and the autopsy of the baby girl will be occuring this afternoon (2/11/09).
For those who have infants and feel you are not ready to raise a child, there are many places where you can drop the baby off. Any precinct or hospital will glady take your child and press no charges, the will just make sure the baby is healthy and in it's best conditions. You can seek help or talk to someone you confide in that will give you the best advice. Never take a child's life out of selfishness. Remember you are given the gift of life and prosperity and that gift should be given to anyone.

Do you know who's really behind the screen?

Ok, so we all know how famous MYSPACE and FACEBOOK are. Many of us own a profile ourselves to interact with others and share images of our "exciting" lives. Yet, we never think of those who may hack into your profile and see pictures of you even though they are set to "FRIENDS ONLY". We never think of the freaks that are out there enjoying what they see, and
are thinking of ways to trap you! According to the Associated Press, this past week and 18 year old male student from Milwaukee posed as a female on Facebook tricking about 31 of his male classmates into sending him naked pictures of themselves, having the youngest of 15 years old. He would then use these pictures as blackmail in order to get sexually pleasured by these males.
The 18 year old is Anthony Stancl who attends New Berlin Eisenhower highschool. It is said he would pose as a female named Kayla or Emily tricking his male classmates in conversation. All 31 males came forth in an interview, stating that Stancl (as Emily or Kayla) tried convincing them to meet in order for to perform sexual acts. If the boys denied, the "girl" would threaten by saying she would post their naked photos on the internet to show all their friends.
Stancl is being charged with 5 counts of child enticement, two counts third degree of sexual assaults, repeated sexual assault on the same child and possession of child pornography. He has also been charged for making a bomb threat back in the spring of 2007, an incident where he had written on the school bathroom wall and sent to teachers. This resulted the school's closing.
If convicted guilty to all these crimes, it is said he will face up to 300 years in jail...in otherwords LIFE!!!!

This kid is obviously mentally disturbed and needs some serious help! As for the boys assaulted, you shouldn't be sending any dirty naked pictures of yourselves anyways. However, this shloud be a lesson learned, and justice will be served on Anthony Stancl. My advice for him...cherish your last days of freedom!!!

Imagine saying your last words to the love of your life...

On February 6 on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico, pregnant tourist Sara Kuszack, 36, was found slashed across the throat. She had been jogging one morning while vacationing in Puerto Rico, when suddenly a man grabbed her and stuffed her into the trunk of his car, later raping and killing her. It is said by her mother Joan Lang, that Kuszack made the last phone call to her fiance Cheshire McIntosh crying in fear saying "I am going to die..." and stating she knows she doesn't have a "chance with this man". She called from inside the trunk in desperate need of help, as the FBI used the signal from the phone to locate her. An hour later she was found dead. McIntosh didn't give any commentary, as he asked the public to give him some privacy and time to grieve.

Eliezer Marquez, 36, was arrested Wednesday admitting to killing Kuszack as he sat wit bloodstains on his shirt and pants. He cried to officer Arsenio Rodriguez, stating that he felt bad because he didn't know Kuszack was pregnant, and feels horrible because he has a daughter himself and knew he had made a big mistake. He could face up to life in prison, just like his mother,Ines Nevado. Back in 1992, Nevado had murdered two young siblings of ages 2 and 3, also by slits at the throat.
Sara Kuzsack was known by friends and family as a smart, adventerous woman who had no fear of anything. They always figured that anyone to be murdered would be those who would have enemies and or have faults, however Kuszack didn't have either and it's just a shock it happened to her. McIntosh and Kuzsack were set to marry in March, his memory of her is that, she would cheer up anyone who seemed down. ( Crime News, National News)


I found this story appalling! I cannot imagine saying my farewell to any loved one. Especially in a situation you have no control of. As much as you want to explore the world and live your life, it's sad how someway it has to be ruined. It just shows there is no piece or comfort no matter how happy and successful you are. Marquez deserves the harshest punishment and hopefully gets life in person. It's ironinc how Marquez followed the same trail as his mother, well at least they will be together! Like mother Like son! Hope Sara Kuszack's family receive full justice!
